Great monster variety and the synthesis system is a ton of fun to mess around with. Grinding goes by quickly which encourages fusing monsters often, so you'll be mixing up your team constantly.
It's a little too easy to become disgustingly overpowered, though that's part of the fun. But there's surprisingly little content to put your team against in the main game. The tournament stages are braindead easy, I cleared every main stage with the same D rank team.
Main game might be short but there's a ton of additional content in the post game, which has some great fanservice for fans of the main series.
