Minecraft is an odd game, and a game that really sits in an odd place in my backlog of games. I started playing around 1.2.4 and have played everything from Tekkit to Hypixel to Curseforge, Pixelmon, Yogbox, Hexxit, Skyblock, you name it, I've done it. Minecraft sits in a similar location, in mind, as Skyrim does, a game that is endlessly moddable and can be fun in a lot of different ways, however, my biggest issue with Minecraft is how it has become entirely community-focused and group-wide opposed to being a game about surviving in a world. While this is true of any game that develops over a long time, Minecraft is always on that cusp of not feeling quite finished. This most recent run of Minecraft was a custom 100 mod (exactly) modpack using Minecolonies and World Generation mods to enjoy myself in a way I wanted to, and I think that's how I have to judge Minecraft. Not necessarily on its vanilla style, but more on the constant creativity the game has infused in its core, and because of that, I can't be too harsh on the game, despite my personal distaste of it's current state.
