T.S Underswap is easily the best Undertale fan game I have ever played. It takes Underswap, an uninteresting character swap AU, and turns it into something special.

T.S Underswap swaps the roles of the characters, but the characters do not switch their personalities. For example, instead of Papyrus acting like Sans, Papyrus still retains his personality while taking up Sans's role in the story. This change makes T.S Underswap far more interesting than the original Underswap. Instead of feeling like Undertale but with different character designs, it’s something more unique.

T.S Underswap follows a similar setup to Undertale. A human falls into the underground and must find a way to escape. You have the choice to spare or fight the monsters you come across. It's similar at first, but the swapped roles of the characters cause things to play out differently.

For example, the ruins are more lively compared to Undertale's Ruins. There are a lot of characters to talk to, and there's even an entire city to explore. The in-game explanation for this is that Asgore is a lot more caring to monsters than Toriel is, so he constantly helps keeps the ruins safe. I loved the addition of the city. There are many fun character interactions and plenty of familiar faces to discover.

The gameplay is the same. You explore the overworld, solving puzzles and getting into combat encounters. The combat is identical to Undertale's. You have the choice to fight the enemy, or you can use the ACT command to spare the enemy. Each enemy is a puzzle. Attempting to figure out what to say to befriend the monster takes a decent amount of thinking. I do love how some of them are challenging to figure out. A mid-boss had me struggling to figure out how to spare them.

The music is fantastic. It’s unique, but still has the same flavor as Undertale’s soundtrack. The battle theme, "Tuffer Upper," perfectly represents this. It's very different from "Enemy Approaching," but it gives you the same feeling that gets you pumped up whenever you start a fight. Other music tracks I love are "We're not Feeling Grand," "A Place To Call Home," "Dogged Pursuit," "Chill by the Grill," and "Stargaze."

As I am writing this, T.S Underswap is still in development. Even so, the demo provided an experience I'll never forget. If you haven't played it already, please do so. It's easily the best Undertale fan game that's out now.
