So, when this game first released back in 2020. I skipped it because at the time, we were getting SO many Samurai games. Nioh, Sekiro, etc. I thought it was another game to hope on the Samurai bandwagon.

Oh, man, was I wrong... This game had me hooked from the second I started. I'm still thinking about what a masterpiece this game is. From the engaging and unique characters you meet along your journeys, to the gut-wrenching story of Jin abandoning the Samurai code to do everything he can to help Tsushima island, and the dynamic relationship between Jin and his Uncle. Achieving all this while not coming off cringey or cheesy.

This feels like you are playing through an old Japanese tale.

Now, for the cons. Which are not really cons in my eyes but I could see how some people could have problems. First, clearing Mongol outposts over and over again to liberate areas can get repetitive. I didn't mind it because the combat was fun enough that I WANTED to get into fights. Secondly, maybe the lack of choice in how to clear strongholds during the story. I understand this is meant to be Jins story, so I didn't mind that either.

Overall, I can't recommend this game enough. It has left such an impression on me.
