My most played Wii game and my first Mario Kart game. Could name every cup and track, and beat all but one or two of the expert staff ghosts. Did struggle to get 3 stars on every 150cc and Mirror cup, so I was stuck at a 2 star profile. Actually rocked the gold Wii Wheel icon too, had no idea that not using drift controls was better.

After learning about the online community and finding out about ultra shortcuts, got my 20 second Grumble Volcano time trial and quick first lap Wario's Gold Mine. Couldn't ever pull off any of the other Ultras though. Converted to Funky Kong Flame Runner and played through many online races through CTGP and Riivolution, and had a great time. Peaked at around 7300 VR, I think. Custom courses were also really fun to explore, although obviously hit or miss.

Favorite combinations before Funky Flame Runner: Koopa Troopa and Magicruiser, and then Baby Mario and Bullet Bike. Favorite track was Maple Treeway, with Koopa Cape being a close second (very happy that both of those made it into MK8Dx Booster Course Pack). And favorite Battle Stadium was obviously Funky Stadium, though the mechanics of Chain Chomp Wheel and Delfino Pier were really cool.

5/5, made maximum use of both single-player and multiplayer content. Also, a fun Easter Egg of unlocking Rosalina early by having SMG save data.
