Pokemon is by far the franchise I've spent the most time with period. I've played all of the main series games, across all consoles, ever since I was a little kid. I've played it competitively, done Nuzlocke's, Randomizer's, Wonderlocke's etc. I've just all around been one of the biggest Pokemon fans there are. This franchise has meant A LOT to me over the years. But even I, was in need of something new, something innovative; a Pokemon game to give the franchise a new spin, which it very much so deserves. Sword and Shield was some of the worst games in the series, and overall, I haven't really felt the magic this series had once brought to me, in many years. Well, that has certainly changed with Legends Arceus. This is by far the best Pokemon game in at least a decade. It's everything I ever wanted from one and holy shit does it ever deliver on pretty much all fronts. The replayability is honestly insane, the atmosphere is impeccable, the twists to the gameplay, both in the overworld and the battles themselves are just incredible WOW. I was excited to see what Game Freak could do with what seemed like a fresh take on the series, but I never could've expected this! I still have the post-game left, some shiny hunting to do and of course a pokedex to complete... and I never could've been more excited to jump into a Pokemon game again. Top 3 Pokemon games of all time; what an experience.
