NieR Replicant is a relic from a different age of gaming; an age of gaming where a company like Square Enix could pump out this abstract, arguably even bad, sequel to a joke ending of another awful game and it could still somehow become a cult classic. NieR Replicant is not for everyone. I often see reviews here on Backloggd and also on Steam talking about valid issues with the game, and if you're someone who played this and it really didn't click with you and you think I'm smoking crack for giving it 5 stars, I honestly can't even blame you. NieR is a perfect example of a game that is ambitious to a fault, trying so many strange methods of storytelling that don't always work, but ones I always admired seeing. I think NieR is worth trying for yourself. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but I think it's undeniably very special.
