This is a really good final for this series, in my opinion. And by far the second best The Walking Dead game (the other one being the very first game).

After the burning chaos that was A New Frontier--the third season, this one brings a breath of fresh air having a different approach to exploration or analysis of a general area by having a shoulder cam, which in paper doesn't sound that big of a deal but in-game it does wonders, it really makes you feel like you're playing as Clementine, not just ordering her around to see what she does or asks others. This especially gets the spotlight in combat scenes against zombies, which was a nice addition and honestly improved the game from just being a "choose-your-own-path" movie.

The thing I like the most about this one particular season is how they actually make you care about your companionship, the people you meet, what they'll think and everything. Especially your most important companion, AJ. He will literally be shaped of everything you say and teach to him, and this at first might not seem like much but by the end parts you see how teaching him to be cold and a killing machine actually affects the story and how others see him.

And, lastly, I think after problem and conflict from already 3 games in a row, this one comes in clutch sometimes having really calming and reflective scenes, it actually feels quite nice to just have a stroll in Ericson and seeing everybody do their own thing, even if this was previously done, with characters that you've bonded with the entirety of the season, it has a new meaning.

Overall, the game is probably the perfect end to this series without going to absolute limits like finding a cure against the Walkers, although we might not see much from Clementine or AJ again, we can expect that they do live quite peacefully after everything has calmed down. Wish the game didn't have such a rough transition from A New Frontier, though, the time-skip sometimes feels off, apparently Clementine is 13 years old there and suddenly she's 16 here, and that only begs the question if it really took that long to find AJ, or to keep him in the move. But that doesn't really matter because A New Frontier is a roadblock in the story just used to show how Clementine is a teenager and all of that.

I quite liked my experience with this game, even if it was more of the good old The Walking Dead experience.
