Now THAT'S how you start a series. God damn this game TRIPLE FOLDS the first game by a mile, actually realized with seemingly care for the player (excluding the flashing lights) they blessed this one with excellent sprite work, music and level design for the most part. A complete revamp of the main themes and concepts that Mega Man would be known for the next decades to come, and a true showcase of the potentials of the franchise.

While a bit held back by the Wily stages and the bosses, this game is just very fun. All levels feature something new and things to think around on, the addition of the different "Items" that Dr. Light gives you makes an excellent addition to already fun run & gun platformer gameplay and just a bunch of fun concepts and enemies. None of them really stick out as annoying or bad to fight against, it feels fair for the most part and that's what makes it so different from the first one. Too bad it had to take Capcom a whole ass year to make it.

(Played on the hard mode too btw I'm just that cool)
