After 4 entries in the Mega Man World series of games, and its failures to duplicate what would be the Classic Mega Man experience in the portable handheld, World 4 finally sets a standard and is able to compete with a proper Mega Man game, taking the best and worst elements from the entries it takes from, but making overall a solid portable experience unlike anything we've seen before from these titles.

The game finally features a shop, cutscenes, (minimal) story plotlines, collectibles between stages, Beat, good Robot Masters and stages, with their powers also practically intact from the NES games, making for a solid roster and overall just fun things to do. Even though the stages are shortened down way too much, they make room for bite-sized gameplay to be actually fun and not frustrating.

Not to mention that the visual department has gone up a bunch, actually accurately transmitting what we see in the home console versions of both Mega Man 4 and 5, but this does take a load in the handheld as the game features constant slowdowns when there's a bunch of sprites and details on-screen, which makes up for the most accuracy with the NES games, funnily enough.

Still, for the rest of the game it is very fun and doesn't feel like that much of a drag, actually fair and balanced for most of it. Screw Crystal Man's stage, though.
