While it doesn't quite reach the highs of Kingdom Hearts II, and we had to wait WAY too long to get it, this game actually surprised me after hearing so much negativity thrown it's way.
Combat has definitely been turned up to 11, and I didn't enjoy the in air fighting as much as I enjoyed the more grounded mechanics in 2. The Disney rides thrown in to the combat were an odd choice also, and definitely took me out of the game and made me sigh a bit as I saw the obvious marketing.
New worlds, worse looking keyblades, beautiful set pieces, no final fantasy characters, my opinion on this game kept flip-flopping during my playthrough, but at the end of the day I did finish it, and I did look forward to playing every day.
There was no way the ending to this was going to be perfect. It was decades in the making, with a story that is slapped together with elmers glue, but I still couldn't help but feel a sense of epicness and peace at the end of it all.
