Though not my favorite Trails game, Cold Steel 2 still had a lot to offer me, even though it feels final with a lot of the story beats it goes on with, this game most of all in the Trails series felt like it was setting up a lot for the Trails games to come. Something about the way that the game was segmented and paced made it feel like they had to make sure that they hit absolutely everything they needed to before moving on to the next game. Though the set up here is incredible, and has me quite excited to get into Cold Steel 3, there was a lot to be desired with this one. Maybe I didn't spend enough time with Crow, or maybe I just wasn't super invested in him as a character, but his death didn't really hit me too hard. This Trails game is the only one thus far to not make me shed a tear, which I think says enough.
