The Wii version has just insanely complex controls that, once you had worked out what they were - made you feel like a director of football (but in a good way).
You could point at the screen and just tell the little guys where to go and what to do once they got there - nice!
However, I once got really drunk and realised that this is a very hard game to play competitively whilst drunk, so it loses points for that.
