Sonic 2 is that good shit. Levels aren't too long featuring challenging but fair gameplay (except metropolis, still hate it) and some of the best theming of the series. Music is always banging and it corrects almost all the problems that the first had. Although whoever decided that the final stage should have zero rings and make you go through 2 different bosses in a row is an absolute sadist and probably enjoyed seeing that blockbuster money roll in from all the kids keeping the game a couple days later just so they could beat the game.
