Star Fox 64 3D is a great remaster of the original, adding a new coat of paint, a couple major quality of life improvements, and offering the experience on the go. Star Fox 64 scales surprisingly well to a portable by having short, but very replayable and endlessly fun levels. Gaining the ability to save in between levels is also a major improvement that helps adjust the experience towards being more portable friendly.
If you remember 64 fondly, 3D is a perfect way to dip back in, even if it would have been nice for them to fully retain the original voice work. And if you are new to the series, the on-rails shooting, diverse level design, and branching paths hold up as an enjoyable experience today. Perhaps look for it at a discount, however, as it is quite short if you don’t do multiple runs.
