I love this game so much more then I expected after bouncing off the first game for being overly frustrated with a bosses design as a solo player. The core gameplay is really solid here and, aside from the final boss, the bosses I encountered all seemed challenging but fair.

What really has drawn me into this game are all the secrets it has hidden. Secret paths in dungeons leading to unique items, puzzles with more solutions then you realize, a bunch of hidden archetypes ranging from feasible to find yourself to wtf how did anyone figure out how to unlock this, its a goldmine for secrets unlike anything else I've seen.

Talking about experiences playing this game with friends has also been so interesting due to how the worlds you go to first and their stories and layout are randomized differently for every playthrough. When I first found out the exact things that can vary between playthroughs of the same world talking to friends I was so surprised and it made me greatly anticipate future replays of those areas.

The main issues I have with it are that its very hard to run well on PC and the trait system needs some rethinking. Traits have a cap of 60. Some traits are "just" quality of life upgrades like climbing ladders faster, in other words the kind that while helpful you would never choose over more combat related perks when you have a cap. Also while you can respec trait points it has a high costs meaning your disincentivized from freely changing archetypes for different builds whenever you want. Hopefully they rework this into a better system for the sake of the games longevity.

It took me about 22 hours to complete the campaign but there is still a ton of stuff I have to do and cool things to find/unlock. I'm really glad I gave this a shot in what has been a extremely crowded year for high quality games.
