This game is built on the same gameplay model as Battle for Bikini Bottom, which holds up in this game, but where it differs is the presentation and game structure. Where BFBB was a pseudo-open world game, this one is a more linear, level driven experience. Despite this being a movie tie-in game, the quality of the levels here is actually kind of staggering. The care to recreate and expand on the locations from the film can be felt in each and every moment. The story is basically just the movie with extra gameplay scenarios thrown in-between, but it works well since the movie's story lends itself well to more sprawling adventure-style gameplay.

It's nothing too deep or challenging, but this game oozes charm for the franchise, just like BFBB did. The strength of the visual design, the accessibility of the gameplay, and the solid design of the levels, really make this a great comfort game to play, and an excellent licensed game that punches way above it's weight-class. A good time all around.
