Games come and go, some being remembered as truly being the best of the best. The golden standard for when it comes to creating a great game and experience. Conker, is not one of them. Instead seeming to be more of a mess, than a gem of the N64 that many seem to remember it as. So let me take my nostalgia glasses off for a bit a ramble on.

The movement in the game is fine. It definitely leaves a little to be desired, with me wishing that there maybe were some more options for when it came to the squirrel's movement, because I must say, not once did I truly immerse myself in the game and just let myself flow, instead kind of dreading some sections which due to the movement, seemed more boring than they could of had the game had a perhaps more complete and robust movement set.

The linear path of the game is definitely a turn off to me and many if I'm willing to guess. I remember the game as a young kid being a bit more open, but with my most recent play though, that seems to be the complete opposite. The game is completely linear, not giving the player much to do with it's incredibly large world, with quite the rich cast of characters. Which certainly shows off the game's missed potential. And a potential that by the looks of things will never be achieved.

Now of course, I know the imfamy this game has for it's humour. Being mostly toilet humour, and the talking seeming to be in some parts mostly. "FUCK SHIT ASS FUCK SHIT DICK FUCK BITCH FUCK SHIT DICK PENIS FUCK SHIT FUCK YOU FUCK SHIT FUCK SHITSHISTHISTHSITSH". Which I don't know about you, but I personally. Don't think is as effective as it may have been 20 years ago. So to say it's humor is outdated, would be almost an understatement. That isn't to say the game won't get a little funny here and there, because maybe it's due to me being a very immature person, but I did catch myself smiling a bit here and there.

Soundtrack wise... It's a Rare game, the OST fucks as always.

And so, here we are, 23 years since the release. Almost 1/4 of a century, and it shows. The game seems to only age worse and worse, had you asked my thoughts on the game a few years earlier, I can guarantee I would have seen the game as one of the best of the N64, which as much as the game has it's charm. It most certainly isn't. And so after slamming the game for paragraph after paragraph, I really cannot see the game as anything other than a 7.5/10. Don't get me wrong the game is still quite a nice experience to play. But one that can only be enjoyed once in a blind playthrough, with any more being nothing but a chore.

Hopefully one day we may see this fucker back on the modern age of consoles. But with the current look of things. Conker may very well be left stuck in it's infinite limbo, which it's been for god knows how long.
