I'm writing about Alan Wake, that's funny huh? I finally got to play this game after I really liked Control, my first Remedyverse game. To get right to the point, I enjoyed playing Alan Wake a lot, it's certainly unique and it lives up to the things I heard of it before playing. And now getting to the things I didn't like, I know it's been about 13 years since this game released but the lack of enemy variety bothers me. The combat is ok, but new enemies are few and far between, and the game will just take out your upgraded flashlight and guns and make you get them all over again and again, and it's just irritating. The overly agressive enemies don't help it either. But this isn't what makes this game special, it's the quirkyness of the game, the weird activities between combat sections like listening to radio shows, watching TV programmes and reading Alan's pages are just too good! I like how the game is structured in episodes like a TV series and the way it uses music is so impactful. I loved when I saw something and then tought: oh this makes sense because I know Control's story! And despite it's problems, I liked it a lot and I will for sure continue my journey in playing every Remedyverse game. And I want to revist this game by playing the original Xbox/PC version someday.
