This is the sequel to my favorite game ever, so there's some bias here. Nevertheless, I think NEO is a really solid continuation to the original game. The combat was made a lot better, everything is much more fun than before. This new gameplay style works really well, it feels more customizable than the first game and the end result is honestly the best part of the game for me.

The story isn't as good though. The original game had parts that felt like padding, but it's worse in here. The plot doesn't really get going until the end of Week 2, but when it gets there it's really good. It's still a bit of a mess though, and some plot elements have a lot of missed potential, but it still does a fine job at what it wants to be.

I'm kind of glad that this game wanted to do its own thing too. It's less of a continuation of the first game and more of its own story that helps answer and resolve some plot threads from A New Day, like Shinjuku and Neku's fate.

Overall, NEO is a really good followup to the first TWEWY. The main issue with the first game was fixed, but the general plot could've been better and left a lot to be desired.
