This is the Sonic game that started it all for me. The epic story between Sonic and Shadow, the majestic setpieces and locations, and the high-octane rush of racing through levels all combine to create a solid 3D Sonic game. The beloved Chao Garden will cause you to spend hours of your life caring for fictional, blobby babies as though they were your own. Crush 40 absolutely kills it with the soundtrack, too.

Sonic Adventure 2 is certainly not without its faults. Controls aren't always precise, leading to a slippery and sometimes frustrating gameplay experience. The PC port suffers from some technical flaws that can make loading into the game a challenge. Not every mission is a knockout, either. Yet, in spite of these flaws, Sonic Adventure 2 is a notably memorable experience.

100%: Getting all A Ranks on missions, especially the driving levels, will prove to be frustrating. The Chao-related achievements can also be a large time sink if you neglect to interact with them throughout your main story playthrough.
