There is so much that I like about Little Nightmares. The dense thick atmosphere combined with the freaky looking giant humanoid monsters you sneak past, the warped unsettling environments and aesthetics that pelt you relentlessly, the general sense of being tiny and completely helpless. These all work wonderfully off each other and work together to create a truly unique experience. The puzzle platforming itself is fine enough, nothing spectacular, nothing you haven’t seen before, but it works well and serves as a means to highlight the previously mentioned aspects more. Unfortunately despite hooking you in and making you want more to experience, this game ends up being way too short for its own good, clocking in at roughly 4 hours if even that. I was kinda left deflated because I liked the general atmosphere and environments so much that this just kinda came as a shock that it ended so abruptly. Also there are a few annoying instances where the game relies too much on trial and error design, like “if you don’t start running in this direction RIGHT THIS SECOND, this dude will catch up with you and you will have to try again.” There isn’t much replay value outside of smashing all the hidden dolls or hugging the small creatures. It was a great experience but again, it really left me wanting more of it
