I'm gonna be honest here, I don't get the hate.

Like sure Halo 4 isn't a remarkable game but I found it to be a decent enjoyable experience overall. The story is far and away the best part of it, the dynamic and emotional connection Chief and Cortana have is fantastic, everyone has said this already but it definitely explores the more human side of Chief overall. The new "big bad" of the game is uninteresting (he spends 3/4 of the campaign cooped up in a giant rock for pete's sake), but the overall focus is Chief and Cortana's relationship in the end and it works really well, dialogue and voice acting are all on point and the presentation is stellar. Even for a remastered 360 title this game still looks incredible. The campaign is the (slightly more linear in structure) standard Halo affair, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Everything you expect is here and accounted for, the new Promethean enemies are interesting new additions that spice up the gameplay and are way more interesting to fight than the flood ever were lol. The new weapons also get some good attention and are fun to use...except for the grenade. The Promethean grenade absolutely blows, it's borderline useless in every way. I managed to get a grand total of 1 enemy to die from it in the entirety of the campaign. Armor abilities return from Reach (although obviously most of these are brand new and are admittedly fun to use) and you have the sprint by default, though why they couldn't make it an infinite sprint since it's no longer bound to an ability cooldown like it was in Reach is beyond me. Overall pretty decent game, some old retreading in terms of gameplay, some new stuff sprinkled here and there, I'd say it's worth playing.
