I already really liked Sonic Mania despite not being a huge Sonic fan, but coming back to it with the new Encore mode I like it even more. The mechanics surrounding juggling all 5 characters in Encore mode are fantastic, and a much more interesting way of approaching a lives mechanic.

Really hope we get even more of this style someday, but if this was just lightning in a bottle I'm okay replaying it anytime I get the Sonic itch.
