Now this is a Capcom brawler: robust, imaginative, and with plenty of strategy to keep minute-to-minute fight scenes interesting. It says a lot to me about the strength of the core gameplay loop that Final Fight does very few tricks to shake up the player's general action - just a single elevator level and some bonus stages - yet the act of punching and suplexing never gets old. All bosses except Abigail are great, too, offering variety to every level's capstone (it's a good thing Abigail never appeared in anything else... oh, wait...). Final Fight doesn't completely click with me, but I don't think that's anything the game's doing wrong. Anyway, there's a lot for me to respect about it, and I had a good time. Co-op for this has to be a ton of fun.
