Solid re-work of the original Mafia game. Most round Mafia game in my opinion too.

Don't think this is just a GTA in the 30's. It's more like a linear story where the city isn't as important as you might think. The most important aspect of this game, it's the story. Which to be honest blows most Grand Theft Auto games since it's contained and it doesn't overstate it's welcome that much.

It has a few technical hiccups here in there, at least on the version I played. For example try maching the RS (R3 on Playstation) button while driving, it'll sttuter like crazy. It isn't as polished as I expected it to be, even being a linear game. Feels like an AA title with a lot of budget on it. It's alright.

The driving is weird. Specially the bikes, awful don't even drive them. You can limit the speed like in the old game which helps with the Police, whish more games had this. Shooting from the car can feel arcade-y, plain simple but effective, doesn't leave that much room to interact on the shootout.

Talking about the shooting, it's okay A lot of recoil on most weapons, it's hard to aim on console. Probably I'm just bad at shooting games but this one in particurally felt difficult to aim at your enemies. There is a cover system too, which is serviceable and it does the job.

Stealth in this game is dead simple, and sometimes doesn't work. Only 2 or so missions use stealth as a necessary resource to continue. Not bad, not good. It can be frustrating at times.

The story, arguably the best part of the game is solid. Nothing to write home about if you either watched the Godfather trilogy or even Goodfellas, but it's well crafted start to end.

In short. Good game, just don't expect greatness. Around 15 hours to complete the main story.
