What if Duke Nukem was an edgy kid that discovered the internet.
Probably that is how I would describe this game. It's basically a FPS throwback to the times of Duke Nukem 3D and Doom, a cool mix of both.
This game takes place in the same universe as Hypnospace Outlaw. There is a page in Hyonospace that talks about some Zane guy, this it's same Zane and this is his game. It's confusing but fun if you know the full details. It can be enjoyed without pior knowledge of Hypnospace Outlaw.
Now talking about the game itself. It's pretty fun, altrough a bit short lasting only 3 or so hours. There are plenty of guns to choose from the classic shotgun to a big green lazer comming out of your hands that consumes "the Hack Blood" meter, which is just a bar that drains once you perform attacks with your hands. 7 in total, all feeling different from one another.
It's a bit slow in terms of moving Zane. Not as fast as modern boomer shooter throwbacks are, a bit more methodical with a very limited jump and arsenal of weapons. That doesn't mean is bad, but I think if you were used to the smooth movement of modern throwbacks, this doesn't have that.
The charm of this game can only get so far though, got kind of tired of it by the end even being kind of short. But overall, it was a fun experience.
