It’s like if The Organ Trail had gameplay. Combat isn’t very deep, and the stamina of your characters and health of the zombies can get pretty annoying, but damn, is it satisfying to kill them.

Comparing it to the last roguelike I played, Enter the Gungeon, it’s difficult to say which is better. Gungeon has a much better sense of combat and enemy variety, but the difficulty curve is too sharp and the roguelike elements are almost nonexistent.

Death Road has better roguelike elements and a better difficulty (I actually beat it) but there’s little variety in tasks.

I’ll admit, even though I’m still hella pissed with Gungeon (had its difficulty been lowered and had actual progression, it’d be a masterpiece) it’s the better game. But not by much.
