I already loved Cuphead, but this makes a couple of solid improvements. Ms. Chalice is a very fun character to play as, and feels a bit more balanced than the game's usual upgrades. In the base game, the invisible dash felt a bit overpowered. With Ms. Chalice, she has the dash, but only via a grounded roll. This makes going into the air a bit more dangerous and makes the invincibility a bit harder to use but still very rewarding. The double jump is very fun to use for dodging, and her parry dash was tricky but very rewarding to get down. The new weapons all feel pretty different from each other and super fun to use as well. Just like the base game, the presentation is stellar. The music is excellent, and the animation is just as bombastic and visually varied. The new bosses are all super fun to fight and bursting with creativity. Plus there's some neat bonuses to find. If you like cuphead, absolutely play this DLC.
