While I do think Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is better, 2 is great game as well.

The story is very basic and falls flat. The chapters later on become very story heavy and during the finale, the story peaks. It is not bad, it is not that great either, I just think the characters are the biggest focus.
I think every single character is amazing. Their respectives arcs are very well shown, it made me really like Rex. Nia comes close. The backstories of the "villains" hit quite hard. ZEKE IS MY FAVE BTW! <3

Now something that I really feel mixed about... the combat. More and more mechanics get introduced but they get barely explained. It's a bit overwhelming and I figured out at THE FINAL BOSS how it properly works. While switching blades and doing combos is fun, it just doesn't get explained properly. Also the combat is VERY slow.

Of course the music is amazing, nothing much to talk about, go listen to it. The environment and dungeon design is top tier. What I love about Xenoblade is how huge everything is. Its verticality is amazing.

THE GACHA SYSTEM FOR THE BLADES IS AMAZING BTW, YOU ARE JUST WEAK!!

All I can say is: Play the game yourself, don't expect the deepest story but you will have a nice experience nonetheless.
