My New Year's Resolution is to become even more of a Devil May Cry hater because I have never liked these games and I'm tired of pretending they're good.
Shitty camera, shitty control scheme, and boring enemy design. I didn't like it at the time and I don't like it now. I truly don't get what people see in this game.
I'm giving it two stars though because I do like Dante's Bollywood energy in the cutscenes.

I'm prone to hand problems, so I am always painfully aware of any time a game makes me hit a button quickly many times. I had to hit that fucking dog so many times with my sword and yes I was hitting it in the head.
Saying DMC combat is just button mashing is like a kid trying chess for the first time and saying there's not that much strategy to it
I removed the words "button mashing" from the review. I meant "you have to rapidly hit buttons" which is physically uncomfortable for me, not that there is no strategy to how to perform combos or which combos you should use when.
