It's like paper mario but the combat is more engaging, all of its mechanics feel more fleshed out, the characters are more round and have more personality, the story is better, the world feels more lively and connected, it basically does everything better than paper mario does and I already love those first few paper mario games a ton. It's also way harder, I beat the entire game on hard mode, it was a challenge and certain points, but it was some of the most satisfying wins in a game I've ever felt.

sure. It doesn't look or sound as good as paper mario (I'd argue against that sound part tho, this games ost is way underrated imo) But even so, who cares? it's still a damn fun game.
