A step down from the previous entries. The concept of trapping and then playing as villains seem cool, but fall off when you realize that they could have made them Skylanders and nothing would change. They don’t spice up the gameplay in any meaningful way and aside from the Doom Raiders, I don’t get any information about the other villains until after I trap them. It’s not bad, but not good either. The game also just feels slower than the ones before.
Speaking of the Doom Raiders, while I appreciate the fact that the story is more built around the gimmick, I ended up not really caring that much for them as villains, especially since at the end, Kaos just ends up taking the final boss place again.
But speaking of bosses, that is one area where Trap Team is the best in the series at. Since there are plenty of lesser bosses around the game, this allowed the developers to go further out for the big ones. Another aspect I like about the game is that I find it to be the hardest game in the series, even on Hard Mode. And honestly, anything involving Wolfgang is super.

But this is one of the most “quantity over quality” games I’ve ever played.
