I still really like this game. I mean, I've been playing for a couple-ish of years. However, the fanbase is a biiiittttttt eeek. I think the problematic fans are just the loudest though, but it does draw me away sometimes.
Even then, I found amazing friends through Genshin.
Grinding sucks. Sometimes it feels like an endless battle because artifact RNG is dog water. To not burn myself out, I just use up my resin for the day and that's it.
The scenery is gorgeous though. I always have a fun time exploring the various areas and regions that come out.
If you do wanna play, don't let the bad side of the fanbase get to you. I think it's worth it to play every once in a while. The beginning portions may heavily remind you of BOTW, but after the first area (all of mondstadt), it starts to feel more like it's own game. However, it is a gacha + free game, so it can feel repetitive and boring.
