The Shopping List was a game that I was expecting so much more from. It was described to me as a very good indie horror game, so I went into it quite interested, and everything felt like it should have lined up perfectly, for me to like it, but I didn't.

So, first off, I love Indie Horror Games, this game is a Indie Horror Game, it has a PSX Aesthetic, I love PSX Aesthetics, the game was an hour long, I love when games are more shorter and digestible for what they are, (if priced properly) and it's also free! How could I dislike the game? Well...

The game felt way too amateurish for me. It tried little subtle jabs of humor throughout, that don't really work. And while I like a good Horror-Comedy, this game tries leaning into being a hardcore Horror game, but then out of nowhere, straight into Comedy, with entire comedic points. So it completely, at different times, switches its genre.

The game tries to build up this, ''You are being stalked...'' atmosphere, because there is a Serial Killer going around, and while I did expect this, it just feels so scripted. Like you know that you cannot die, so therefore its not that scary anymore.

And lastly, the ending... oh god, the ending. They try to pull a PTSD route with it, that again, feels amateurish and almost hateful, kind of insinuating that whenever you get PTSD you just become a terrible drunk, and a terrible person, and they pull it off terribly.

The games not that great, It's not worth your time really. Even if it's free, it's just bad.

Overall: 3/10
