really falls apart with an overlong bland slog section right in the middle (which is a real shame since all the best weapons and encounters come after that point) but the combat is very fun and looks fucking amazing even today, all the lighting and particle effects do wonders in making this game hold up so much. the horror stuff and the plot didn't do anything for me but still it's pretty fun if you're willing to sit through the mediocre to bad 60% of the game to get to the 40% of really good gameplay.
