This game is not for me and that's fine. I prefer the older tank control games.
For what it's worth it was enjoyable enough for me to finish it. it does what it does well enough and I understand the appeal.
I just wish it didn't change resi into games like it for like a decade

Fun thing to know is that the tank controls didn't really leave in this game (or RE5, for that matter). All they really did was shift the camera to the over the shoulder perspective. It only actually really ditched tank controls and went full third-person shooter by the time RE6 came in.

What's more interesting is that one of the original prototypes for RE4 had it so the game retained the fixed camera perspective like prior RE games, but would shift to the TPS/over-the-shoulder perspective while aiming. I'm not gonna lie, I think that would have been a pretty cool gameplay design element if the developers would have kept that.

Just thought I aughta share these little factoids for the sake of conversation, lol.

@Nightmare_0mega I didn't know that about the prototype, I will check that out. I probably should've added in my review that I prefer the fixed camera angles too. There's nothing wrong with the game it's just not for me
@PeanutRicky I think it was called the "Hookman Demo", if I remember correctly, but I think there were other prototypes/demos that also tried the fixed camera angle, or experimented with a behind the back perspective.
