It’s 343’s best Halo for sure. The combat is incredible and really does a lot to hold up the campaign since the open world is pretty dull and repetitive and all but one of the linear missions are set in the same type of environment and look almost identical because of it. The story this time around didn’t have anything as bad as the didact from 4 and wasn’t as reprehensible as 5 but it wasn’t amazing either. The characters were better than I was expecting and they nailed Chief this time but the main villain is just kinda there and the ending leaves off on a cliffhanger that is really annoying and the big new threat that they spend the entire game hyping up doesn’t even show up in it.

Oh yeah the multiplayer is really fun too. Shooty gun make brain feel good.
