Holy shit this game was even better than what I expected. I was always pretty sure I would like this series, and I even heard this game's story was fantastic, but man the way it hooked me was not what I expected at ALL. Even if the story was confusing at times, and all the relationships were hard to follow, what was not were the characters and their motivations. Even if you were confused, looking at the character's dialogue and reactions told you all that you needed to know, and following Kiryu's and especially Majima's journeys have made them some of my favorite characters ever.
Enough about the story, the way it somehow beautifully matched the sidequests was also amazing. The stark contrast between the serious main story and the outrageous scenarios the sidequests put you through worked perfectly, balancing each other. Even if most of the quests are what I say "badly" designed in how many are just glorified fetch quests, the dialogue, and scenarios you are put in give them an unmatched entertainment value that made me want to seek out as much as possible. I can't wait to move on to the next games in this series, and also endlessly recommend this to people because of how fantastic this is.
