An alright kart racer on its own, but pales in comparison to not only its competition, that being CTR Nitro Fueled, but also its predecessor Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. A weaker roster of characters and race tracks is one thing, but another thing that holds it back would be the core gimmick of the teams, which doesn't feel like it makes the game interesting outside of multiplayer, something which is hard to experience thanks to the dead online scene, and the more Mario Kart-esque Wisp power ups. Controls are solid, customisation's neat and the OST is pretty good, but this isn't a title I plan on coming back to anytime soon. Only bought a second copy, this time for my PS4, because of the 30th anniversary artbook.
