Persona 5 Royal is everything but Persona 5 vanilla was but better. There are so many quality of life changes that effect you gameplay-wise a lot more than you would think. Atlus did the impossible and made the over world in a turn-based RPG fun to explore. The new characters in Persona 5 Royal are given very unique character traits and stories, while blending it very well into the second climax of the game. One of the best characters now is Akechi. His story was originally left behind in the original game and doesn't really have a solution while in this game you get to understand why he doesn't like to lose and how he'll use his weaker Persona against you like while he plays pool with you he only uses his non-dominant hand, I thought that was a really nice touch. And of course the music, everything is sung by Lyn and complimented by string instruments and a synth. I don't think everyone can like this game especially if you aren't invested to heavily narrated stories or a Japan aesthetic but the inventive combat can keep you coming back like it did four times for me.
