This is definitely a Final Fantasy game, that's for sure. Ok, being a bit more nice, this game is not the abhorrent unplayable mess that some pin it as - or, at least the Pixel Remaster version isn't. It has a plot that... tells, characters that uh, do stuff. On screen, even. There's some good parts, some bad. Overall, however, once the novelty of the leveling system wears off this is a perfectly average RPG. I'm happy to have played it so I can at least say I have, but overall, unless you're gunning to play every game in this series like I am, I'd recommend any other mainline title before this one.
