In many ways it's a pretty typical action RPG with a heavy focus on dungeon crawling. It's made a bit more distinct by the absolutely asinine camera system that rotates with you as you wander around the dungeons. Yes, you get used to it, but talk about needlessly reinventing something that already worked. Your melee and magic skills also grow based on your usage of them, which actually works a lot more smoothly here than in some other 80s games that tried similar mechanics. Beyond that it's a decent dungeon crawler with a variety of weapons and items to find, monsters to slay and soundtrack to get stuck in your head.
