“Life is a lot like a freak show, ‘cause nobody laughs when they leave”

A neat collection of multimedia events. The game lacks a standard story or gameplay loop and simply serves as a myst style point and click through a carnival (it almost functions as a far more interesting predacosr to Gone Home). When you first enter the carnival you can just watch each of the preformances but after a while you will find the one of the secret paths to the freak's trailers. Where you can do little minigames, watch a music video, and veiw a multi media story which will all explain the back story of each freak. These can vary from a series of letters to a comic book drawn by Brian Bolland (the artist of Batman The Killing Joke). Being made in '94 Freak Show came out in a post Myst landscape where computer games began trending towards more unique experiences with a focus on 3d pre rendered graphics. If there is one thing that dates the game it is the section full of a residents digital catalog and music videos. In a pre mass video sharing era this would have been one of the few ways to really watch a residents music video on your pc. An interesting oddity from and interesting set of individuals.
