To be reductive, it's Resident Evil 4 meets Metroid Prime. And it's awesome. Never played the og, but this remake was a joy to play. Dismemberment based action is a really cool twist on typical horror game combat (The Ripper is my new BFF). All the Cronenberg body horror is right up my alley. Mixed with all of the psychological cult stuff, just so cool! Definitely one to return to with NG+ sometime.
