This is how Fear 3 plays from start to finish:
>Start a level
>Walk down a long corridor, with your ability to sprint disabled for some reason
>Get assaulted by about 50 billion different particle and screen effects making it impossible to see. This is as far as the game tries with its "horror"
>Enter a large open room and have a shoot-out against enemies that blend into the environment on the other side of the area so you are forced to play this like a generic cover shooter
>After the fight, you enter another room and walk straight for 5 minutes
>Hear Alma moan loudly
>Game assaults you with even more screen effects
>Level ends with a cutscene
>Start a new level and you lose all your weapons

Fear hasn't had a new game since and I don't blame them. If this was my third mainline entry I wouldn't show my face to the industry again.
