I liked Klonoa 1 but I really loved Klonoa 2. I feel like every single aspect of Lunatea's Veil improved on the first one. I feel like Lunatea is way more interesting than Phantomile, and the story in this one is leagues better, which is saying a lot because Klonoa 1 has a great story. Having characters who are important to the story makes a big difference, and I love the characters. The level design here is incredible, everything is very well designed and every level feels memorable, the platforming stays fresh throughout the entire game, and the music is great. The worlds are so whimsical and unique, I loved every level. The hoverboard levels are also fantastic. Overall, one of my favorite 2D platformers might move to a 5/5 later
