Jak II is a masterpiece when it comes to 3D platformers for so many reasons. It's massive world, many characters, excellent story, vibrant gameplay variety, and the fact that this is a sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, is what makes this game so amazing.

With 60 missions in the game, the amount of variety within these missions constantly surprised me. There's a never ending amount of different gameplay here, so I was never bored with the game once. It's also not a collect a thon whatsoever, which is very interesting, sense the original Jak and Daxter was a massive collect a thon, so you would never have to go out of your way to find something. This game is incredibly innovative to its genre.

I should also mention that I really loved the world and the atmosphere surrounding it. The dark and brutal Haven City was an awesome place to navigate and had so much detail all through out even when it was as big as it was. I already really loved the story and characters of the first game, but this one made me like and care about them even more, adding a lot more depth and characters to the story.

It baffles me that many of the people reviewing the game here will rate it low simply because is very difficult. I personally prefer a challenging game over an incredibly easy game (like Mario Odyssey for example).
Yes it is sometimes very frustrating, but just because a game is hard doesn't mean its bad, especially a game as fun and well made as this.

Overall I think this game is incredible. I highly recommend this and the first Jak and Daxter for any 3D platforming fan looking for a challenge within a huge world and a story with lovable characters.
