This game is an abstraction. It's beautiful in its presentation, rough in its execution, and ugly in its intent. Just don't go in expecting an adventure game. This is a story; one that isn't for everyone.
In a way, I kind of have to commend Backbone for going the path it did, even if the last couple acts felt like they passed just as swiftly as they appeared. I feel like this is a game that almost requires further explanation, which we may be getting with the prequel game.
I dunno. Backbone has given me a lot of feelings to sort through. I'm glad I played it in the end, but... hm.
