If you like JRPGs, this is a reasonable bet. If you don't, this wont convince you otherwise.

Combat is good, characters are pretty enjoyable, but the pacing is terrible and the story is uninteresting, bloated, and barely comprehensible when you view it from a distance. Maybe that's not a big issue for you, but it does taint my experience knowing that it was never in the service of any interesting or satisfying conclusion.

Its serviceable enough that I didn't dislike my time playing it, but if I could go back I'd tell my younger self to spend his time and money on a different game instead.
